Learn how we generated 6,300 Visits Per Month ($3,100 in Monthly Free Search Traffic!) for my criminal defense law firm client.
Video Summary
Hey, Jamie Eilerman here! I’m excited to share a quick SEO case study on how we grew a criminal defense law firm blog from zero to 6,300 visits per month. If you’re interested in learning how to earn about $3,100 in monthly free traffic, read on!
Our SEO Strategy
We focused on a targeted approach to writing SEO blog content, specifically aiming for precise keywords. The process was straightforward: we published just two articles per month and have been doing this for approximately 18 months. Let’s dive deeper into our strategy.
Starting Point
We began publishing in October 2022 with a modest two articles a month. Initially, the traffic was slow, but after six months, we saw a steady and then exponential increase in visitors. Now, the blog attracts over 6,000 visitors monthly and ranks for over a thousand keywords.
Keyword Research and Content Creation
Competitor Analysis
To identify topics, we analyzed competitors using SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Keysearch. We conducted a competitor gap analysis to find keywords our competitors were ranking for that we were not.
Keyword Selection
We selected keywords with high search volume but low competition, particularly those relevant to local areas. Many competitors in the legal field have outdated content, providing us with an excellent opportunity to rank with fresh, optimized articles.
Content Brief
Once we selected a keyword, we created a detailed content brief. This brief included an outline and the keywords to be used. Our main heading would feature the primary keyword, and subheadings would include secondary related keywords.
Writing and Optimization
The writer would draft the article based on the brief. After writing, we formatted the content properly, ensuring the use of H1, H2, and H3 tags. Internal links were added to relevant pages on our site. We also ran the content through Grammarly for grammar and plagiarism checks and included three to five images using Canva.
Call to Actions and Publishing
Each blog post featured specific calls to action, such as booking a consultation or using a contact form. Once finalized, the post was published.
Results
Here’s what our results look like:
Keyword: Text harassment + location (blurred for confidentiality)
Ranking: We secured the AI overview and the featured snippet on the search results page.
Traffic: Significant increase due to ranking for both the targeted keyword and related terms.
Conclusion
By consistently applying this strategy, we saw substantial growth in organic traffic. Not every article hits number one, but many rank in the top three, contributing to overall traffic growth.
